The GREENMOBILITY Self-Assessment toolkit is designed to address the unsustainability of urban transport. Through six different tools, the collaborative platform’s main objective is to promote and engage citizens in sustainable urban transport, a key focus area for the aim of having Europe carbon neutral by 2050.
The project Greenmobility is currently examining and validating the 6 tools created in the self-assessment package. The tools are being tested by 40 persons in 5 countries: Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania, and Sweden.
The first tool, ‘Behavioural Change,’ is intended to help the users identify their mindset regarding the daily use of a car. After the identification, recommendations are provided, encouraging those still car-dependent to switch to an environmentally friendly way of travelling.
The users are invited to express their views on environmental topics using the next two tools, ‘Attitude Towards Environment’ and ‘Attitude Towards Personal Mobility’. The questions presented include themes such as transportation choices, CO2 emissions, and mobility. The objective is to assess individuals’ environmental impact due to their personal mobility decisions. Similarly, the tool ‘Travel Preferences and Attitudes’ informs users’ preferences and individual attitudes towards transport.
Complementary, the self-assessment on ‘Travel Behaviour’ examines not only the environmental attitudes of the respondents but also their commuting behavior, including their preferences. The aim is to encourage a shift in travel behavior toward environmentally friendly transportation modes.
Lastly, the tool on ‘Sustainable Mobility’ presents an interactive module with real-life scenarios related to transportation habits. Showcasing situations close to reality can enable learners in their awareness process. Following the EU Green Deal, individuals with greater environmental awareness can choose a more sustainable industry and transport.
After the piloting, the project partners will create a report, and improvements will be made before starting the training on the use of the tools.
