At the end of January, Kaunas University of Technology School of Economics and Business (KTU SEB) announced a public invitation to become a part of the ERA Chair project “Industry 4.0 impact on management practices and economics” (IN4ACT) research team. 40 applications from all over the world were received to fill up the position of Research (Senior) Fellow.

Candidates from 19 different countries

According to ERA Chair Holder, prof. dr. Panagiotis Damaskopoulos, the result of a high amount of candidates was not surprising, but pleasing nevertheless.

“In the past, our searches for new team members had always attracted a wide variety of talents, who wanted to join the IN4ACT research project. We are happy that this time, our job ad has also attracted a number of motivated applicants, from different scientific fields, which will enrich our team and will allow us to continue our research,” – explained prof. dr. P. Damaskopoulos.

Job applicants defended their PhDs in different universities worldwide: Spain, Malaysia, Portugal, Scotland, China, India, Brazil, South Korea, Finland, Italy, United Kingdom, South Africa, Estonia, Czech Republic, Romania, United States, Japan, and Lithuania.

Interviews are scheduled for March and the start of the position is in April

The current ERA Chair research team is comprised of researchers with different backgrounds and specializations: economics, business management, technology management, public policy, law, international political economy, and energy/environmental sciences. Candidates’ interviews are scheduled for March and the start of the position is in April.

ERA Chair researchers are pro-actively contributing to the achievement of the IN4ACT project objectives: implementing an ambitious research agenda on the impact of future manufacturing (Industry 4.0) on management practices and economics, driving changes at the KTU School of Economics and Business related with research management and human resources, especially to comply with the ERA priorities, improving the School’s dissemination, and communication capacities, growing networks and increase links with stakeholders, especially increasing participation in Horizon program.

KTU became the first university in Lithuania winning ERA Chairs competition for attracting top academics. The EUR 2.4 million funding, coming from the EU’s research and innovation funding program, Horizon 2020, enabled KTU to attract top academics to strengthen its competitiveness among centers of excellence elsewhere in the European Research Area (ERA).
