Young Innovators Explored the Future of Health Technologies at KTU “Health2Innovation” Events

Community | 2025-11-13

On October 23–24, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) hosted the “Health2Innovation” seminars – “Empowering Innovation: Turn Your Ideas into Impact!”, aimed at inspiring young innovators to develop creativity, technological thinking, and the ability to transform ideas into real solutions in the field of health technologies. The event brought together over 50 participants from various Lithuanian universities and more than 200 international attendees who joined online from across Europe. Participants had a unique opportunity to explore the latest directions in health innovation, learn how to turn ideas into action, and discover new paths for collaboration between science, technology, and business.

Innovation Today – From AI to Cybersecurity

Events’ Participants

The seminars explored the most relevant areas of health technology innovation that are shaping the future of the sector. Participants delved into project management in health technologies, the application of artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR) and simulations in medicine, digital communication and marketing strategies in healthcare, as well as cybersecurity and data protection in medical innovations.

These topics were presented by an expert team consisting of KTU School of Economics and Business researchers – Prof. Dr. Aušra Rūtelionė, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vestina Vainauskienė, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Inga Stankevičė, PhD candidate Junior Asst. Lect. Syed Mehdi – and industry professionals Neringa Valantinė (“Ligence”) and Arnaud Denis (“Accenture Baltics”). Their insights demonstrated how interdisciplinary knowledge and creative approaches enable the development of technological solutions that can transform the healthcare sector – from patient data analysis to preventive diagnostics.

The Space for Young Innovators to Grow

As a leader in innovation and interdisciplinary research, KTU actively supports initiatives that connect technology, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. The Health2Innovation project is another great example of how the university helps students move from ideas to real societal impact. According to the organizers, such events not only expand academic knowledge but also encourage participants to think globally, collaborate with international partners, and fully utilize the potential of modern technologies in the healthcare field.

“Young creators have countless ideas that can fundamentally improve people’s quality of life. Our goal is to give them the tools and confidence to turn these ideas into reality,” said project leader Prof. Dr. Aušra Rūtelionė.

From KTU to Innovation Hubs in Sweden and France

The Health2Innovation event is just the beginning. Selected participants will continue their innovation journey and will travel to the Innovation Bootcamp at “SmiLe Venture Hub” (Sweden) in December 2025, where they will work alongside international teams and mentors from Europe’s leading innovation centers.

In March 2026, participants will begin internships at France “Eurasanté” and Sweden “SmiLe Venture Hub” health innovation clusters, gaining practical experience and expanding their professional networks.

Such experiences help young innovators not only acquire valuable knowledge but also build long-term international connections that can become a solid foundation for their future careers in technology and healthcare.

The Health2Innovation initiative is more than a series of seminars – it brings together individuals eager not only to create innovations but also to make a lasting positive impact on society. It unites academia, students, and business representatives in their shared mission to drive meaningful change through collaboration and technology.
