Community | 2026-03-31

A researcher at the School of Economics and Business of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU EVF), Rita Markauskaitė, participated in the fourth meeting of the international project W-RISE (Women on the RISE), held in Wrocław, Poland. During the meeting, together with project partners — Fundacja Educational Trip (Poland), Net in Action (Italy), Fundación Empresa Universidad de Alicante (FUNDEUN) (Spain), ALFOMBRA ROJA AB (Sweden), and REGWI Institut für Regeneratives Wirtschaften (Germany) — the final stages of the project were discussed, the achieved results were evaluated, and the concluding activities were aligned.

W-RISE is an Erasmus+ funded project aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial competences of Ukrainian refugee women, fostering their self-employment, and contributing to the development of a more inclusive and sustainable society in Europe.

An important component of the W-RISE project is the strengthening of international cooperation. Throughout the project, the W-RISE network has been established, bringing together participants, experts, and stakeholders, and creating opportunities for experience sharing and the development of further initiatives.

The main outcomes of the project include the development of a six-module training programme designed to enhance entrepreneurial competences; the implementation of training activities involving 36 participants and 6 educators from various European countries; and the establishment of the W-RISE network, connecting participants with experts and stakeholders.

The meeting held in Wrocław marked a significant stage of the project, enabling partners not only to evaluate the results achieved but also to discuss future actions aimed at ensuring the continuity and long-term impact of the project outcomes.

In the near future, dissemination events will be organised in the partner countries to present the project results, share good practices, and promote entrepreneurship. These events will provide an opportunity for a broader audience to become acquainted with the outcomes developed during the project.

The W-RISE project contributes to the empowerment of Ukrainian refugee women by strengthening their ability to create businesses and actively participate in society.
