Detailed information of the event

The event will start with a presentation and lecture on “Signs of the Shift: Insights from 20+ Japanese Progressive Organizations”, a book by Yuji Yamada, a founder of r3s.jp, born out of two years and 20+ company visits across Japan. Yuji Yamada set out to document the quiet but powerful transformation underway in Japanese organizations — from Kongo Gumi, the world’s oldest company with over 1,400 years of history, to cutting-edge firms like Yumemi, where employees set their own salaries and dismantle traditional managerial roles, and Gaiax, where staff can earn equity in their own internal ventures. Covering over 20 companies across unique organizational models, reward systems, and corporate cultures, the book challenges the assumption that Japanese companies are inherently top-down — and reveals a rich landscape of pioneering practices largely unknown to the outside world.

We then turn closer to home. ELCA Holding – a Lithuanian company will share their story from the inside. Aldas Katkauskas and his colleague will share their vision that set them in motion, the structural choices they made, challenges, pitfalls, and the hard-won lessons along the way.

The morning closes with an open interactive discussion, between the audience and presenters, to explore what these experiences mean for your own context, and what it might take to begin your own shift.

The event is organised together with For System Change and Corporate Rebels/Lithuanian Rebel Cell.
